Students who play keyboard can be used as percussion players and guitar players can be used as bass guitar players in the band.

Band students will be expected to play as Pep Band for all at home football games and a selection of girls and boys at home basketball games. All events will be graded.

Band meets first period every morning. All students are required to have their instrument, music and equipment and play every day.

At times, community events will ask us to perform. We like to oblige all community events, meaning many times we will be performing outside of class time. Students are required to attend all performances. In case of an emergency, students may get a hand written excuse prior to the performance from a coach, manager or parent asking for the student to be excused from the event.

At Christmas and during the spring, Band will have a large performance. This is the sum of all the work done during the semester. Attendance to this performance is mandatory. If a student cannot attend this performance the grade must be made up with a written research paper.

CHOIR

Choir at Alleman is the Alleman Pioneer Singers. They are a group designed for singing out in the community. All singers must audition with the teacher. Singers must be able to sing alone or in small groups. Harmony will be taught as well as rhythms and sight singing. This is a performance class and students will be graded not just on their singing ability but also on how well they perform and present to the audience. Singers are representative of Alleman High School and must act accordingly
