Christian Service Initiative

The Christian Service Program

The guidelines for CSI hours are as follows:

  • Students are required to complete a minimum of 80 hours of service through the CSI prior to May 1st of their Senior year (Exceptions will be made for transfer students).
    • 40 of the hours must come from a project or projects.
    • 40 of the hours can come from various service opportunities.
  • All hours should incorporate one of the Spiritual or Corporal Works of Mercy and should be directed to the aid of human persons.
  • Helping family members is wonderful, in fact, it is what it means to be a part of a family; therefore, unless pre-approved, no service to family members will be recorded as CSI hours.
  • A family member may not serve as a supervisor.

“Love is the key to the mystery. Love by its very nature is not selfish, but generous.
It seeks not its own, but the good of others.
The measure of love is not the pleasure it gives
- that is the way the world judges it -
but the joy and peace it can purchase for others.”
(Ven. Fulton Sheen)
