National Honor Society

The purpose of the National Honor Society was to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership and to encourage the development of character in the nation's high school students.

Each member is required to demontrate the following four characteristics:

  1. Character
  2. Scholarship
  3. Leadership, and
  4. Service

"Character is the quality within each individual that distinguishes that person from another. Scholarship means a commitment to learning. Leadership should exert a wholesome influence on the school. Service is an opportunity to help others."

The Alleman Chapter of the National Honor Society received its chapter in 1954. During these past 63 years, over 1,250 Alleman students have met the high standards of membership in the National Honor Society.

As part of the service rendered to the community, Alleman NHS students prepare:

  • Senior Citizens Dinner
  • Sadie Hawkins Dance
  • May Crowning and Induction
